Expanding on silks and rope skills from previous levels to invert at higher heights and build endurance. Prepare to be challenged and to stay on the apparatus for longer.

Prerequisites:

  • Clean invert from ground in straddle and tuck w control
  • Thigh hitch (leg lock) sequence both sides
  • 3 different climbs to the ceiling
  • Familiar w crochet climb
  • 10 sec bent arm hang left, right, center

Silks 1

Students will continue expanding vertical vocabulary by building on foundational skills from the previous level. This class will focus on refining technique in foot locks and developing movement patterns in the knot, while introducing new sequences and transitions. Each class includes targeted conditioning to support strength for inverts, bent-arm holds, and crossback straddles.

Prerequisites:

  • Solid figure 8 footlock
  • Classic and Russian climbs
  • Straddle in a knot with good form

Intro to Vertical

Open to first-time aerialists or anyone new to vertical apparatus. Learn foundational skills on silks and rope, with a focus on building form and body awareness on the apparatus. We will break down the elements of climbing and inverting with progressions designed to build strength and endurance.

Prerequisites: none.

Silks 2

In this class you will build your vertical vocabulary and learn foundational skills for silks. Classes will include conditioning exercises to build strength and stamina on vertical apparatuses.

Prerequisites:

  • Invert from the ground (foot tag ok)
  • 10 second bent arm hang
  • Double figure 8 footlocks in the air
  • Single dancer footlock
  • Know the difference between dancer and figure 8 footlocks

Silks 4

In this class we will build our strength with fun conditioning drills both on and off the apparatus. We will learn some new wraps and continue to drill old ones.

Prerequisites:

  • 2 climbs to the top of the silks
  • Straddle and side straddle mounts
  • Thigh hitch (leg lock) sequence
  • Bat

All skills should be able to be performed on both sides.
