In this class we will work on sequencing using low apparatus: slings, dance trap and hoop. We’ll use the floor a lot and do a little conditioning, too. Come prepared to move.

This class is for larger bodied aerialists with a little bit of experience.

Prerequisite: 1 full session of Intro to Horizontal or similar.

Slings 1

This class will develop your relationship with the sling, introduce wrap theories, and build strength and endurance. Focus will include mobility work, pull over mounts, supported and aerial inversions, climbs, and single drops.

Prerequisites: comfortable in straddle inversion, standing in sling, and being in hip hang; gazelle both sides; double crochet

Slings 2

Continue developing your relationship with the sling, exploring wrap theories, and building strength and endurance. Focus will include body awareness and general control of movement on the apparatus, mobility work, supported and aerial inversions, climbs, and single drops.

Prerequisites: pullover into hip hang; hip hang roll up to front balance; marionette, any entrance; manta ray sequence; 360 drop

Intro to Horizontal

This class for beginners will sample trapeze, hoop, and slings, also known as aerial hammock. Learn the basic physical vocabulary of aerial arts through fun, challenging and attainable progressions. Apparatus-specific conditioning and flexibility are also introduced to help build your sustainable aerial foundation. This class is a prerequisite for level one Trapeze, Hoop, and Slings classes.

Slings 3/4

Expand your knowledge of wrap theories, explore dynamic transitions, experiment with tempo and creative expression. Strengthen inverts & endurance in the air. We’ll work on c-shaping, flares, beat sequences, stacked drops, elbow circles, and more.

Prerequisites: crossback straddle, familiar with beats (front/back, bell, scissor); able to invert from stand & a climb, strong body awareness in the air.
